Deliver care within the LPN scope of practice, as defined by the Minnesota Nurse Practice Act, as ordered by the attending clinician under the direction of the Nurse Manager/Charge Nurse or designee, in established nursing standards, Minnesota Veterans Homes (MVH) policies and procedures, and all Federal and State regulations/guidelines.
This position is designated a part-time and primarily Night Shift (10:30pm-7:00am). The work schedule will include at least 64 hour per 2-week pay period and may include additional work hours, based on business needs. The position is initially eligible for full employer contribution towards health and dental insurance benefits.

Minimum Qualifications

Licensed in Minnesota as a Practical Nurse with no restrictions, and in good standing.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross or ability to be certified by date of hire.

Computer skills sufficient to complete electronic charting, specifically in PointClickCare.

Ability to communicate effectively, follow instructions, and keep clear and accurate notes and documentation.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a skilled nursing facility, long term care or other senior healthcare environment.

Experience working with Veterans.

Effective interpersonal skills in establishing and maintaining positive working relationships.
Additional Requirements
This position also requires successful completion of the following:
A Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) background check will be conducted on finalists for this position. Finalists must pass the DHS background check.
A Tuberculosis (Mantoux) screening (or chest x-ray) is required prior to employment.
