Job Description
Certified Wound Care Nurse Specialist
Wound Care Nurse Responsibilities
-
Assess and evaluate patient wounds to determine the appropriate course of treatment
-
Develop and implement individualized wound care plansClean and dress wounds, ensuring sterile techniques are followed
-
Monitor and document patient progress, updating treatment plans as necessary
-
Educate patients on wound care best practices and infection prevention
-
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians and other healthcare professionals, to optimize patient care
-
Perform debridement and other wound care procedures as required
-
Conduct regular follow-up appointments to monitor healing and make necessary adjustments to care plans

Adhere to all healthcare regulations and safety standards
Wound Care Nurse Qualifications & Skills
-
Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN) or equivalent certification
-
Experience in wound care nursing or a related field (2 years)Advanced knowledge of wound care treatments and technologies
-
Ability to perform wound care procedures, including debride
-
Knowledge of current wound care research and protocols

Leadership skills for training and mentoring staff
