OR RN Manager
Shift: Full time, Monday-Friday, 6:30am-3pm
Experience: 5 years of recent OR experience; 2 years of recent OR Supervisor experience within an acute care hospital setting; recent OR Manager experience preferred.
BSN is required; prefer Masters (doesn't have to be in Nursing)
Preferred certifications: CNOR, or willing to obtain within 1 year

Expectations:

Conduct monthly 1:1 staff meetings

Conduct formal physician meetings to occur monthly to review supplies, equipment, team feedback, and procedural growth

Manage daily OR Charge and Anesthesia board running meeting approximately 10:30am

Have a hyper focus on Culture of Safety in partnership with Director, HR and Quality Leadership

Ongoing monitoring and development of transplant guidelines as the program continues to grow
-
Oversee response and closure of Riskconnect reporting

Oversee and closure of pending disciplinary actions

Conduct daily purposeful rounding with staff

Job Summary
As the Nurse Operating Room Manager, the professional creates a supportive work environment for staff and unit personnel. This emphasizes professional nursing practice, teamwork, collaboration, and patient-focused care. The manager plans, develops, and implements policies. They assess and track procedures. They oversee budgets and resources. Additionally, they manage quality initiatives and educational programs. They serve on governance councils to achieve goals.
Essential Functions of the Role

Work closely with supervisors and nursing staff to reach department goals. Teamwork is key in achieving success.

Prioritizing a positive work environment, you'll ensure the establishment of effective processes and protocols, fostering best nursing practices and research.

Encouraging the growth of each team member, you'll facilitate their professional development in both clinical skills and leadership capabilities.

As a proactive problem solver, you'll identify and address any ethical or clinical issues that may arise.
Key Success Factors

Familiarity and proficiency in nursing procedures and patient care standards.

Know regulations, laws, and rules, as well as certification and accreditation guidelines. Be familiar with hospital standards and department policies related to nursing care.

Basic computer skills are essential, including office software, information security, scheduling/payroll systems, patient record management, and email use.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree, preferably in Nursing.

The candidate must be a registered nurse (RN)

Basic life support certification, (BLS) or ability to obtain within (30) thirty days of hire, is essential for this role.
