Job Summary and Qualifications
Under the direct supervision, the clinical student will apply their classroom knowledge in a healthcare setting. The position will provide student rotations, externships and exposure to skills and knowledge necessary in their respective clinical areas of study
What you will do in this role:

Apply respiratory care modalities and procedures to a group of patients. Evaluates outcomes of patient care, consults with other disciplines as required and adjusts the plan of care as necessary to ensure optimal service.

Effectively identify predictable problems and plans assigned tasks as needed.

Recognizes changes in patient condition and initiates activities to facilitate appropriate responses.

Communicates the patient's condition and/or change to appropriate staff and/or physician, as needed.

Ensure appropriate delivery of cardiopulmonary/patient care for a group of patients according to policy and procedure.

Responds promptly to changes in workload, adjusting assignments as necessary to achieve optimal productivity and efficiency.

Prioritizes and plans all work steps to ensure success; considers time, supplies and support required from other individuals and departments in setting up work plan and completing duties.

Provides pertinent shift report to other members of the team.

Participates and facilitates in the case management process and cost containment for patients.

Make appropriate referrals upon admission and throughout hospitalization.

Consider all available options and makes appropriate decisions.

Assists in the containment of hospital costs through appropriate use of supplies, recovery of patient charges, and conservation of supplies.

Assists in the evaluation of patients for appropriate levels of care and communicates with others on health care team.

Communicates pertinent information regarding patient's progress and discharge planning needs to appropriate hospital and medical staff.

Evaluates patient progress considering the plan of care and coordinates care to achieve desired outcomes.

Cooperates with other personnel to achieve Department objectives and maintain good employee relations and collaborative integration of the health care team.

Maintains harmonious relationships with staff members, providing support and assistance to ensure quality customer service.

Demonstrates attitude of cooperation and professionalism.

Demonstrates flexibility in working hours and days scheduled to meet needs of the department.

Seeks and accepts input from Directors/ Supervisors regarding interpersonal relationships that affect the department's harmony and serviceability.

Demonstrates accountability for direct patient care and evaluation of patient outcomes.

Follows established procedures for all treatments, performance of procedures, and medication administration.

Assures the patient treatment plan is followed.

Implements prescribed treatments accurately and in timely manner.

Evaluates patient response/outcomes to procedures performed, treatments, medication administration and other aspects of the treatment plan.

Recognizes changes in patient condition and initiates activities to facilitate appropriate responses.
What qualifications you will need:
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
