The Corrections Licensed Practical Nurse works in close and immediate contact with adults and children in custody on a daily basis providing general and emergency nursing care in the Medical and Ambulatory section of the Corrections Facility while maintaining facility security standards.
Minimum Requirements:

Possesses a current Practical Nursing License in the applicable state

Minimum of one year experience in Corrections preferred

Current CPR if applicable
-
TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)

Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age

Role Overview
Key Responsibilities

Administer medications and monitor patient responses

Assist with patient assessments, health histories, and ongoing observation

Identify and report changes in patient condition to RN or provider
-
Respond to urgent and emergent situations appropriately
-
Support development and implementation of patient care plans
-
Document all patient interactions, interventions, and outcomes accurately
-
Provide patient education as directed
-
Collaborate with RNs, physicians, and healthcare team members
-
Support and maintain compliance with facility policies and HIPAA standards
-
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements

Active LPN license in state of practice

Corrections experience preferred
-
Current CPR certification (if applicable)

TB screening and health clearance per regulations
-
Completion of Amergis Competency Program (if required)

Strong communication and computer skills

Understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA

Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
