Nursing Supervisor RN Admin (PT)

Baylor Scott & White Health Waxahachie is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our leadership team as a Part-Time Nursing Supervisor Administrative . This role provides hospital-wide administrative and clinical support, ensuring exceptional patient care, efficient operations, and leadership oversight across all departments. This position supports the entire hospital and offers an excellent opportunity for nurses interested in advancing into leadership.
Schedule:
Part-Time (24 hours/week)
Two 12-hour shifts per week:
One Day Shift: 7:45 AM - 8:15 PM
One Night Shift: 7:45 PM - 8:15 AM
Essential Responsibilities:
Provide administrative and clinical leadership during assigned shifts.
Serve as a resource and support for nursing staff and interdisciplinary teams throughout the hospital.
Coordinate patient care operations, staffing, and workflow to promote safe, efficient care delivery.
Respond to operational and clinical issues while ensuring adherence to organizational policies and quality standards.
Promote a culture of patient safety, teamwork, and service excellence.
Support hospital leadership initiatives and assist with patient throughput and resource management.
Required Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Current RN license.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Recent experience in ICU, PCU, and/or Emergency Department settings.
Strong organizational, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Nursing specialty board certification.
Previous leadership, charge nurse, or supervisory experience.

Job Summary
You'll work closely with management. Plan, steer, and coordinate daily tasks in nursing service administration. Create policies and procedures to achieve department priorities.
Essential Functions of the Role

You will manage and oversee daily business and administrative operations with an emphasis on providing patient-centered care.

Guide and teach your team. Ensure compliance with regulations.

You are expected to apply Lean methods to enhance practice and patient care.

You'll help plan the staffing budget, as well as the equipment and expense budget for the year.

You must update staff on patients, especially those in critical condition. Report staffing and unexpected events.

You will build good relationships with department staff, patients' families, doctors, and external groups. This helps with communication, problem-solving, and improving patient care quality.

Prepare reports, maintain records and files, and manage equipment and inventory. Also, maintain a database for generating reports when needed.

Essential computer skills include MS Office, email, security, scheduling, payroll systems, and electronic medical records for efficiency in tasks.

Qualifications

Associate's degree in Nursing

At least (3) three years of relevant experience in the nursing field

Registered Nurse

Have Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support accreditation. Or, have the ability to acquire it within the first 30 days of employment.
