Purpose:
As an employee of Trinity Health System, it is the responsibility of this and all positions within the Hospital to support the mission and role of Trinity Health System. In addition, this position will actively support the Hospital's Strategic Plan in the areas of People, Service, Quality, Finance and Growth, in a team based environment. The employee also performs all job duties in compliance with laws and regulation in the observance of accrediting agency standards. The Registered Professional Nurse is responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. The Registered Nurse will maintain standards of professional nursing care according to the competency criteria. The Registered Nurse participates inpatient/family teaching and discharge planning. Works cooperatively with ancillary nursing personnel and other departments.
Responsibilities:

Utilizes the nursing process (assess, plan, implement, evaluate, educate) in providing patient care. Performs assessment through data collection of patients physical and psychosocial status and health history. Plans patient care through individualization of care and incorporates patient/family input. Implements physician orders, treatments, care plan interventions according to schedule in a timely manner. Evaluates and prioritizes patient care decisions and communicates relevant information to care providers. Educates the patient and family if applicable to meet the health care needs utilizing assessment of learning needs according to patients abilities, readiness to learn and barriers to learning. Participates and responds appropriately to emergency situations. Utilizes the medication administration system and is in compliance with requirements. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.

Possesses current Ohio licensure. BLS Provider upon hire prior to start date.

Previous psychiatric nursing and med/surg experience preferred. CPI training.Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

Registered Nurse (RN)
*Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.
