UPMC Northwest is hiring a Cardiopulmonary Rehab Nurse to join the Cardiac Rehab Team! This flexible, full-time role will work between 28 to 40 hours weekly Monday through Friday with no travel, weekends, or UPMC approved holidays required. Candidates with cardiac monitoring experience are encouraged to apply! Assess condition of patient, takes vitals as necessary watches for change in condition or reactions. Observes and reports changes and or significant incidents to physician and/or manager. Evaluates status of patients and offers support to patient and family. Educates patients and families on treatment plan. Complete evaluation and assessment of patient with accurate and adequate documentation Development and documentation of individualized patient treatment plan, accurate with respect to patient's age and medical history, its implementation and monitoring of progress and modifications as indicated.Develops inpatient discharge plan and/or outpatient discharge plan.Prepares for and responds to emergencies in a manner consistent with department guidelinesPractices solid communication skills, and is able to articulate and translate the patient's condition to other care providers and to negotiate and make recommendations for changes in patient care and unit practices. Patient documentation is comprehensive and promotes communication between caregivers.

Graduate of an approved school for registered nurses. Minimum of 3 years nursing experience.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Exercise Specialist Certification or CEP preferredCPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hireCurrent licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse either in the state where the facility is located or in a state covered by a licensure compact agreement with the state where the facility is located
*Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.
