On 5A Oncology, you'll work alongside a collaborative, compassionate team dedicated to delivering Life Changing Medicine to patients and families during some of their most critical moments.
This position works rotating 12-hour shifts (7:00 am-7:00 pm or 7:00 pm-7:00 am). Weekends and holidays are required as part of the scheduling guidelines.

Generous Sign-On Bonus:

Up to $20,000 with a 2-year commitment for eligible experienced RNs.

Qualifications & Requirements

0+ years of RN experience
-
Background in rehabilitation and body mechanics preferred.
-
Demonstrated ability to provide age-appropriate care across the lifespan, including understanding growth and development principles and interpreting patient data to meet individual needs.
-
Proven ability to build and maintain positive, collaborative relationships with executives, managers, physicians, non-physician providers, ancillary staff, and patients/families.
-
Strong organizational skills with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, complex environment while managing multiple priorities and specialized equipment.
-
Excellent clinical judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills essential for high-quality patient care.
-
Leadership capability to guide others in applying the nursing process.

Physical stamina and mobility required for frequent walking, standing, lifting, and patient positioning, along with visual and manual dexterity.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
-
Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
-
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
-
Registered Nurse (RN)
-
Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse either in the state where the facility is located or in a state covered by a licensure compact agreement with the state where the facility is located.
-
Graduate nurses must complete licensure examination within FOUR MONTHS of hire or within one year of graduation, whichever comes first.
-
Though temporary permits are valid for one year from the date of graduation, not one year from issue of permit (or until the results of the examination are known at which time it becomes null and void), UPMC requires that GNs take the licensure examination within 4 months of their start date or they will be terminated or demoted from the GN position, at the discretion of the BU.

UPMC approved national certification preferred.
