Patient Care and Communication

Apply the nursing process to deliver holistic, patient centered care

Partner with patients and families to develop and achieve care goals

Communicate clearly with the care team and advocate for appropriate care decisions

Maintain accurate, thorough documentation that supports continuity of care

Demonstrate critical thinking across clinical, social, safety, and psychosocial needs

Deliver compassionate care that enhances the patient experience
Clinical Leadership and Professional Practice

Lead and support team initiatives that enhance patient care and the work environment

Education and Professional Development

Precept and mentor students, graduate nurses, and new hires

Minimum 3 years of RN experience
-
BSN preferred
-
UPMC approved nursing certification required
-
Certification not required with MSN or DNP
-
Master's in related field may substitute if BSN is held
-
Completion of one My Nursing Career Ladder contribution required
-
Current PA RN licensure or multistate license
-
BLS or CPR certification (AHA) required within 30 days
